January 2026
To celebrate the New Year in 2026, FBCLID 7 will complete its $6.4 million renovation of the New Territory Sports Complex. Five soccer fields were lost during construction of the Brazos River Erosion Control Project. All five fields have now been replaced and upgraded to Pivot Performance Turf, the latest generation of artificial sports turf. Additional covered seating and accessible access routes were also added to improve the facility. All soccer field construction is now complete, and the contractor will address final cleanup and site restoration in January 2026. NTRCA will continue to own and maintain the New Territory Sports Complex and will provide additional information on scheduling in early 2026.
The erosion control structure that protects New Territory from the Brazos River was completed in November 2024. The complete Brazos River Erosion Control Project can be viewed in a recent aerial video. Currently, FBCLID 7 has received $41.5 million in grant reimbursements from FEMA and TDEM and an additional $2 million is anticipated before the grant is closed out. The FBCLID 7 Board of Directors continues to thank all the residents of New Territory for their support and patience throughout this critical flood mitigation project.
